Performance-Based Navigation (PBN) - Airspace Design Course (PBNAD-TRG)
Please note that ICAO has introduced a group pricing structure for trainees from civil aviation regulatory bodies. For every two paid registrations to an ICAO Training Package (classroom or online course), the third registration will be complimentary. This group pricing structure applies to:
a) multiples of three trainees;
b) simultaneous registrations; and
c) trainees from civil aviation regulatory bodies;

Description: The PBN concept represents a shift from sensor-based to performance-based navigation. PBN routes and procedures are designed to meet a navigation specification which is defined in terms of accuracy, integrity, availability, continuity and functionality for the proposed operations in the context of a particular airspace. Personnel involved in airspace design need to understand the PBN concept and how it can be used to improve an existing airspace structure. The goal of this course is to provide participants with application of PBN in the design of airspace.
Goal: The goal of this course is to provide participants with application of PBN in the design of airspace.
• Understand the PBN Concept
• Understand how the PBN Concept can improve airspace efficiency and capacity
• Understand who needs to be involved with the airspace design
• Conduct actual design of an existing airspace using PBN concept
Duration of the Course: 2-4 hours
Target Audience: ATS providers and regulators, ATS managers, airline flight planning personnel from operational control centres, supervisors, safety managers, airspace planners, trainers and inspectors who are involved in ATS airspace design and procedures both civil and military.
